St Augustine of Canterbury C of E Primary School values the individuality of all children. We are committed to giving every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards, which you will see in our mission statement. We do this by taking account of pupils' varied life experiences and needs.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and have high expectations which includes the achievements, attitudes and wellbeing of all our children. This policy helps to ensure that the school promotes this, irrespective of ethnicity, attainment, age, disability, gender or background.
St Augustine of Canterbury C of E Primary School  is an inclusive school. We actively seek to remove the barriers to learning and participation that can hinder or exclude individual pupils or groups of children. This means that equality of opportunity must be a reality for all of our children. We make this a reality through the attention we pay to the different individuals and groups of children within our school. This includes:
  • Asylum seekers and refugees
  • Gender Children with additional learning needs. Children from minority groups and different faiths
  • Children who have English as an additional language
  • Gypsies and Travellers 
  • Children who are subject to Child Protection or Child in Need plans including Team Around the Child
  • Children who are at risk of disaffection or exclusion, young carers, sick children, children from families under stress
  • Children with low attendance, Pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • More able children

Bexley Independent Advice and Support Service (IASS):  The information, advice and support service offering confidential impartial and free information, advice and support for parents, carers, children and young people in relation to special educational needs and disabilities.  This service offers both a helpdesk and face-to-face support.
