Faithfulness (Year 1) Class & Home Learning
Welcome to Faithfulness class,
My name is Mrs Hodson and I am the Year 1 class teacher. Our teaching assistants are Mr Dudley and Ms Bishop.
We are looking forward to supporting your child during the Spring term, to help them become an independent, passionate and imaginative learners.
During this unique situation, I will add below a few websites and ideas that may assist you whilst you are at home with your child until we return to school or I am able to upload some key work for your child.
One of the most important things you can do with your child is to read with your child for 5 minutes everyday, or at any and every opportunity, such as reading a label from a tin of food, magazine cover, junk mail, anything that has words for them to read as this will continue to build and develop their reading skills.
Writing a daily or weekly diary, a letter to a family member, a shopping list for example with your child will help to continue to build their handwriting and word skills, writing sentences using their phonic knowledge will help them to consolidate what they already have learnt.
Some key websites that will also support your child..
www.phonicsplay.co.uk you do not need to subscribe to this website, the free games are more than sufficient to support their phonic learning.
www.topmarks.co.uk for all subjects with a parent section to support you.
Thank you for your support at this time.
