Welcome to Joy Class!
My name is Ms Adesina and I am the reception class teacher, in the class we also have Mrs Williams who is the teaching assistant. I aim to enthuse and inspire the children to help them achieve a lifelong love of learning.
The children will be developing their skills in the seven areas of learning which are Mathematics, Literacy, Physical, Personal Social and Emotional, Understanding The World, Expressive Arts and Design and Communication and Language. The children will cover a variety of different topics and books through the Power of Reading scheme.
Children are expected to read at home every day with their parents. The books will be changed weekly. Reading books and book bags are encouraged to come into school every day. Please ensure you sign reading records once you have heard your child read.
Our first books of the Autunmn term are Ruby's Worry and Lulu gets a Cat. The children will be learning about how to deal with their emotions especially if they are feeling worried. We will explore a range of activities and learning opportunities with relation to our book at the time. Different topics and books will be explored as the year progresses.
Children will be given homework every Friday relating to what they have been learning in class. Homework should be completed by Tuesday.
I look forward to your continued support.
