Reading, Spellings, Homework and PE
PE
PE is on Thursday. Children are expected to come to school dressed in their PE kit, a white top, black joggers/red or black shorts (no cycling shorts, please.), and trainers. Please ensure earrings are removed for PE. This half term we will be developing our jumping skills.
Reading
Children are expected to read at home every day for 10 minutes, phonics and reading books will be changed every Wednesday and will be issued next week. Please ensure you sign reading records once you have heard your child read. Please note that this is checked and logged daily. You can support your child with their reading by talking about the illustrations and asking questions about the book.
Homework
Homework will be set every Friday. It will usually be an activity related to what we have been learning in class. Please make sure the homework is completed in the books by Monday morning. Please see the link below for the homework expectations:
Spellings
Children are expected to use their phonics to spell words the best they can. Some words that do not follow the phonics rule are expected to be learned and spelled correctly. Please note that spelling tests take place every Friday and the tested spellings can be found on the back of the parent bulletin.
You can find a list of all the words we have learned so far, below:
